Sophie Hulme Leather Tote in Tan, Midnight Blue, Cream, and Burgundy
Fashion meets function with this it-bag by Sophie Hulme. Sophie Hulme is a young, London-based designer with, in my opinion, a keen sense for what women want (and need) in a handbag. Her handbags feature streamlined shapes and unique industrial hardware to, as Ms. Hulme puts it, “armor womenswear.” Her entire handbag collection is fabulous (see more styles here), but her classic buckle tote definitely stands out. The leather is rich and durable, the shape is practical and inviting, the size is just right to hold the essentials, and the hardware accents give this bag a slightly masculine feel, making it all the more intriguing. Basically, this bag means business. The leather straps are adjustable to fit your style, and the bag comes with a shoulder strap for a more casual look. On your arm, this bag will charm your admirers, without stealing the show that is your fabulous outfit. I’m hooked, and dying to make the Burgundy tote mine!

Dreaming of a Prisma
A classic tote is a must-have for both work and play. For work, whether heading to a client meeting, court, or bringing work home (this sadly happens all too often), I need a bag that I can easily throw all my lawyer stuff in. For play, I need a grab-and-go tote that will hold my iPad, makeup bag, wallet, sunglasses, etc. The Prisma by Alexander Wang meets all of my requirements for a fabulous tote. It has the edge and style of the famed Emile tote, but in a classic tote shape that you can carry forever. The Prisma is big enough to hold all of the daily essentials, but not so big that it will overwhelm your look. Slightly slouchy up top, but structured on the bottom to maintain shape during flight (for those of us who are constantly on the go!), the Prisma is polished enough for work, but relaxed enough for the weekend. The thin straps fit perfectly on the shoulder without weighing you down. The best part? The hardware detail that adds a bit of edge while protecting against wear and tear. The fashionista in me is craving the leopard print, while the lawyer in me thinks the black crocodile is a safer bet. The perfect compromise? The fall-ready lizard embossed Prisma – to die for! This bag is indeed perfection!

The collar look is all the rage right now, and I, for one, am jumping on the bandwagon. A little skeptical of this trendy look at first, I am now convinced that collars are an easy way to add a bit of style and sophistication to your work ensemble. Collars instantly dress up a simple crewneck sweater or a classic button-up blouse. Just pop the collar over your staple piece and, bam, you have a whole new look! Style the look yourself with these fabulous collar accessories, or buy a piece with a little bling on the neck. Here are a few of my favorites – all workweek-ready!

This fabulous Alice + Olivia skirt caught my eye and instantly made it to the top of my fall wish-list! The combination of the rich, burnt orange color and the luxurious suede material is striking, making this a worthy investment piece! Thanks to the classic cut and minimal details, this skirt is extremely versatile and can easily transition from the workweek to weekend-wear. For the office, pair with brights to show off your playful side, or add a simple, black top for a more sophisticated look.
