Memorial Day weekend, in my mind, kicks off summer.  I kind of have a love/hate relationship with summer.  I love that work typically slows down, the sun is shining for most of the day, a sundress and sandals constitutes a fab outfit, and free time is spent outdoors.  I hate bugs and the heat, and these are big hates.  I have lived in Texas all of my life so I should be used to the summer heat, but I just cannot deal.  In fact, if you ask me my least favorite thing about this state, it would be the weather, whereas most people would say that is a plus for living here.  But, at the end of the day, I appreciate all that summer has to offer.  I just need to be next to a pool, misting system, or fan at all times.  Summer fashion is definitely something I can get on board with, and these looks scream summer style.

So, cheers to Memorial Day weekend!  My plans?  Family time, maybe a movie or two, NOT working (can someone please hold me accountable?), and the Smash season finale (don’t judge, I’m addicted).

I am interrupting my typical strictly business Monday-Thursday posts to celebrate the three-day weekend coming up! I feel totally spoiled by these. There is something about that extra day that transforms the typical weekend into a mini-vacation.

I am still catching up on my spring shopping after weeks in trial.  I stopped by Club Monaco this weekend and fell in love with all of their new arrivals – lots of black and white, stripes, and florals.  Their pieces are so easy to wear and versatile so they work for the office or on the weekends.

My heart is heavy this week for all those affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma.  We managed to escape our share of the severe weather in Texas this week, but the devastation hits close to home.  You can easily donate $10 to the relief efforts by texting redcross to 90999.

It’s here! Hello Friday! This week has been a little off, both with trying to get back into the regular practice of law (as opposed to fast-paced, crazy time trial prep and trial) and a couple of “those days.  All that said, the weekend is here! I am looking forward to a couples’ dinner with some great friends and a belated Mother’s Day celebration to celebrate my wonderful mother! After weeks in hibernation, I am excited to catch up with family and friends. Being out of touch makes me appreciate them that much more.
